About Us

Partnering With Local Restaurants and Wine Retailers

The Wine Society of East Tennessee Board Directors collaborate with our local chefs once a month to prepare a special menu that distinctly pairs wines that our local wine retailers have exclusive relationships with.  Each wine retailer and distributor takes a lot of time to carefully build relationships with exclusive vintners to receive their product and turn around to share with the Wine Society of East Tennessee.  Their care of relationships brings our organization education, new tastes on the palate and reasons for our membership to keep growing.  If you are interested in partnering with us please Contact Us .

Wine Retailers

Our Wine Retailers and Distributors are pivotal in our relationships with our members and our restaurants. The retailers and distributors have exclusive relationships with certain vintners that educate them and are only able to get their specific reserves.  Without these relationships we could not host fun or educational events for our members.  If you would like to become a wine retailer or distributor that we do not currently work with please Contact Us.

Partner Restaurants

Currently we partner with 10 local restaurants to host innovative wine dinners that utilize our partner’s spaces and chefs knowledge of food.  As a restaurant that partners with the Wine Society of East Tennessee you will be able to generate additional business for your private dining spaces, bring more clientele to experience your fine dining offerings and educate your staff on wine to sell that has already been ordered due to your own important relationship with distributors.  If you are interested in becoming a Key Restaurant Partner please click here to Contact Us

Wine Society of East Tennessee

The Wine Society of East Tennessee was founded in 1977 by a small group of wine aficionados in the Knoxville area.  It has steadily grown over the years and currently has an average membership of about 150 members, 10 restaurants, 6 wine and spirits retail stores and 5 distributors.  It is a not-for-profit organization controlled by a Board of Directors consisting of volunteer Wine Society members.

Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up entirely of volunteers from the Wine Society membership. They plan and host our events, selecting event themes and wines, sometimes working with a winery, distributor, or retail store wine specialists. They will meet with restaurant chefs to decide on the wine-food pairings for the event menus. More than anything, they enjoy wine, learning, and sharing about wine with our members.
